The Human Services Department (HSD) notified NMHCA that HSD's Financial Management Bureau mailed each nursing facility letters confirming the 7.84% increase that went into effect July 1st. If you have not received yours, email Jason Espinoza, and he can help track it down for you.

A revised DRAFT version of the 2018 MDS item sets (v1.16.0R) was posted at the end of May. This version contains a revision to discharge goal coding instructions for self-care and mobility, the addition of coding instructions to drug regimen reviews and medication interventions along with several other changes. This version is scheduled to become effective October 1, 2018, so join us at Convention as NMHCA will also host an MDS session on the changes!

Last month NMHCA staff set aside 5 minutes to take Family Friendly New Mexico’s online application and was immediately recognized with a Gold Award for being “family friendly.” After reviewing the eligibility requirements for the award, we realized many of our members were already observing the best practices.

Family Friendly New Mexico is an organization that helps New Mexican businesses and workers strive to achieve a healthy work/personal life balance. Businesses can apply for and receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award based on progress toward the goals. Family Friendly New Mexico will be hosting a session during Convention for our members.
