NMHCA Spotlight

Best of the Best Awards - Nominations Due Tomorrow!

NMHCA/NMCAL's annual awards program is designed to recognize and honor individuals in the Long Term Care (LTC) profession that have outstanding skills, dedication, loyalty, creativity, and an extraordinary commitment to teamwork in their day to day routine, and while a simple “thank you” or pat on the back is always appreciated, a creative employee recognition program is the key to incentivizing and motivating employees. The Best of the Best Awards offer the opportunity to really celebrate your nominees and winners throughout convention! Don't delay; nominations are open through tomorrow, Friday, July 6, 2018. Download the nomination form here.

MDS Changes Effective October 1

A revised DRAFT version of the 2018 MDS item sets (v1.16.0R) was posted at the end of May. This version contains a revision to discharge goal coding instructions for self-care and mobility, the addition of coding instructions to drug regimen reviews and medication interventions along with several other changes. This version is scheduled to become effective October 1, 2018, so join us at Convention as NMHCA will also host an MDS session on the changes!

NMHCA Connects
Family Friendly New Mexico

At NMHCA we know you work hard to make sure your employees have what they need to succeed and we want to tell your story!

Please take a few minutes and apply for the Family Friendly Workplace Award from Family Friendly New Mexico. If you receive one, let us know! We would love to brag about it and recognize your achievement.

The Family Friendly Workplace Award is a distinction that can help align your core values with your policies, improve employee retention, improve productivity and quality so you can successfully achieve your mission, and help reduce costs associated with turnover, healthcare and lost productivity.

Last month NMHCA staff set aside 5 minutes to take Family Friendly New Mexico’s online application and was immediately recognized with a Gold Award for being “family friendly.” After reviewing the eligibility requirements for the award, we realized many of our members were already observing the best practices.

Family Friendly New Mexico is an organization that helps New Mexican businesses and workers strive to achieve a healthy work/personal life balance. Businesses can apply for and receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award based on progress toward the goals. Family Friendly New Mexico will be hosting a session during Convention for our members. Join us at Convention to learn more!
