Finals Schedule (Grade 9-11) Students will take two exams each day through Tuesday, June 7th. The first exam will run from 8 AM to 10 AM, and the second exam will run from 10:10 AM to 12:10 PM. Lunch will be provided from 12:10 PM to 12:40 PM. Buses will be available to take students home after exams. Buses will depart each day at 12:45 PM.

The purpose of this annual survey is to see how well your child’s school partners with you and encourages your family’s engagement in your child’s education. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Parents and guardians with multiple children in HISD are asked to fill out a survey for each school their children currently attend. Feedback is anonymous. Deadline extended to June 3, 2022.

Purdue University - Machine Learning Virtual Short Summer Course
Purdue Engineering is offering a virtual short course this summer for advanced students in grades 9-12 who have had algebra and are interested in machine learning. The program runs from June 6-10th.
Machine Learning for High School & Undergraduate Students
Dates: June 6-10, 2022
Time: 8:00am-11:00am (EDT), Synchronous Instructor: Dr. Stanley Chan
Cost: $200.00 per registrant
Designed for advanced students in high school grades 10-12 and Year 1-2 college students with an interest in machine learning, this course will present and practice introductory concepts in machine learning. The course will be delivered synchronously with time built-in for practice, questions, and review. Students will learn how to write Python programs and some mathematical concepts that are used universally in machine learning. Topics to cover include: Evaluating functions, reading and writing images, matrices and vectors, fitting data with a line, minimizing a loss function, extracting features from images, and how classification works. Pre-requisite: High School Algebra 2

HOSA's International Leadership Conference will be held from June 22-26 in Nashville, TN. DeBakey HSHP has several students who have qualified to attend the conference, however, they are requesting assistance to pay for airfare to Tennessee.
