Important Game Day Info
Please make sure you have the following items for game day:

Instrument with all necessary accessories.
Flip folder with ALL music (each member must have their own flip folder)
Lyre to hold music. (each member must have their own lyre)
Red water jug (filled with water.)
Hays Band Shirt
Compression Shorts
Black Band Shoes
LONG Black Socks (Mid-Calf)
Inhalers (if needed)

Game Day Meal - IMPORTANT!!!

Students - please remember that our use of the cafeteria on Friday afternoons falls outside of the normal school hours. Therefore it is a courtesy and a privilege to have the additional space to eat and socialize.

When we release from the cafeteria to pick-up uniforms, PLEASE do not leave early. Wait until a Director releases your specific section or table. If everyone gets up and leaves at the same time, this causes a massive congestion in the uniform room and hallway. Please be patient!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Band Family!

Thank you SO much for all the hours you put in to help these band kids!  Marching season can be intense for everyone but hang in there…the band is performing great and we are almost done!  😊

I know everyone is super busy…I’m right there with ya…but, WE NEED YOUR HELP with the upcoming ‘Rebels & Rides Car Show.’  This fundraiser has been very successful in the past and we want to keep that momentum going.  Here is the sign-up for volunteers (parents AND students) needed the day of our event.

ADDITIONAL / REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Region 18 UIL Performance -

It's hard to believe that we are already reaching the end of our 2018 fall production of "Torn"!! Our students have worked incredibly hard this season and we could not be more proud of their dedication towards putting together one of the most theatrical performances in the history of our program. We hope that our students will take a moment to reflect back to day one of summer band and realize just how far we have ALL come!

Our goal for this week is simple. We will go out to UIL and deliver one of the most memorable and musical performances of the season. Should we be awarded the opportunity to advance to the area marching contest on Saturday, we will work even harder to ensure a higher level of energy and performance!!

Texas Future Music Educators (TFME)

THIS WEEK!!!

TFME (Texas Future Music Educators) is a wonderful opportunity for our music students here at Hays High School to gain insight into the world of music education. The chapter will be sponsored by Mr. Collins and Mrs. Bills (Hays HS Assistant Choir Director). We will have four meetings throughout the duration of the school year in which we will bring in specialist from our field to come in a talk with your students about opportunities available in music once they graduate from Hays. Guest include faculty from local Universities, Hays Band Alumni, educators from around the district as well as select professionals from across the state of Texas.

Students who are interested in the field of music marketing, music composition and music performance are strongly encouraged to join our organization as well!

Those students who join the organization do not need to be committed to pursuing music past high school. However, this is a great opportunity for those who are on the fence to gain access to the information that they need to be successful musicians in college!

Students who are interested in joining TFME need to attend the first general meeting on Wednesday October 24th. Please see the flyer below for more info.
