SeaSense - August 2019

Welcome to SeaSense for August 2019. In this edition, we invite you to our DeepTrekker ROV demo day on the 8th August, we celebrate three records in 5 TRIAXYS buoys ordered for Victoria and record sales for EdgeTech and RBR in the last financial year.

Not resting on our laurels, we also showcase the recent proving "flight" of the ecoSUBm5 in Zanzibar c/w GoPro footage and integrated temperature and chlorophyll sensors and invite you to the BioSonics "Fisheries and Aquatic Habitat Assessment Workshop" in Seattle.

It was great to catch up with so many people at AMSA last month - please remember that you can visit our dedicated oceanographic equipment website or contact the office at any time. We look forward to hearing from you.

5 x TRIAXYS Buoys Ordered In Bumper Month

To start the new FY off with a bang, MSI has received orders for 5 new AXYS Technologies TRIAXYS buoys in July alone. The buoys, 3 with integrated Nortek current profilers and 2 as wave only versions, will be delivered over the next two months to two separate clients.

More details will come out in future editions of SeaSense but coincidentally, the AXYS factory is in the Victoria region of Vancouver Island and all 5 buoys will be delivered and used in Victoria, Australia.

ecoSUB AUV Production Units Avail. Sept. 19

ecoSUB Robotics Ltd have announced that production systems of their advanced, small and low cost AUVs willl be available from September 2019.

As this date rapidly approaches, proven capabilities are being added to the already extensive list of successful missions and integrations. Recent proving outings include a project in Zanzibar this month where ecoSUB Robotics and the National Oceanographic Centre in Southampton flew one of the ecoSUBm5 AUVs to undertake some very simple coral reef surveys with a GoPro camera whilst measuring temperature and Chlorophyll concentration with a Valeport Hyperion fluorometer. This was performed as part of the SOLSTICE project and the above image is courtesy of SOLSTICE.

ROV Demo Day - Join the Revolution

For the first time in Australia, MSI will be demonstrating the Deep Trekker DTG3 and Revolution ROVs.

Using the ideal location of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, MSI will be flying both vehicles from 10am to 4pm on the 8th August 2019. We will also have Cody Warner from Deep Trekker in Canada in attendance to answer all of your questions.

If you can't make it on the 8th, and would like a hands on demonstration of either of these vehicles, let the team know and we will make arrangements to meet you before the main demo (these vehicles leave for NZ on the 9th).
