Hello Thunderstruck Fans,
I hope you've been doing well and staying safe, as we're isolating in our homes to help fight against Covid19. It is a trying time, but we're getting there, and making progress in flattening the curve.
It's been some time since I've sent out an email, so I'm just doing a bit of an update.
Currently the store is still closed until May 12th , which is the current extension of the Emergency Act. This still might change going forward. I'll be paying close attention to see how the city will be planning on opening businesses up closer to the period.
This closure is quite long, and has made me miss having all the great conversations and interactions with some of you!
I've had some questions regarding DC Comics and their new comic releases. These are suppose to ship out in the next 3 weeks, through their new distributors. Unfortunately, I won't be participating in ordering them, yet, and there is a reason for it.
Diamond, the regular distributor, still has all my orders for those comics intact. These are comics that were suppose to be released during April 1st and April 8th , and have been on hold since the shut down. Diamond is waiting on the right moment to start shipping again, when the rest of US is more or less ready to reopen their businesses. They're looking forward to this towards mid to late May.
If you still want to put in any March preorders, you can. They've been extended till April 24th, and April preorders have shifted to be due on May 21st.
During the last few weeks I have been actively doing mail orders, and thank you to those of you who have made requests. I've been happy fulfilling them!
If you're still looking for something to pass the time with, I am available to take orders for what I have currently in stock. Through Facebook, Instagram and e-mail.
Visit www.thunderstruckbooks.ca and you can find most of the store's products through the picutres of the shelves. It's almost like being here in the store, browsing through them!
Best way is to send me a list of a few items, and I'll always confirm what I have in stock. I accept e-transfers and Paypal payments. Shipping cost is left at the discount rate, and I'm also allowing curb-side pick ups now by appointments. Curb-side pick-up days coincide with the mail days that are listed on the website and frequently updated as the week goes. So far it's been a set days of Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
On the side I've also been working on a Shopify store, which I'm trying to fill with enough products. Takes a bit of time to do. Will try to launch it soon, hoping by the end of the week. There might be a few learning curves with it in the beginning.
If you still want to support the store, and not just from book orders, you can also get gift certificates for future purchases. I've also signed up with Distantly.ca , as on option, which is a Canadian based platform created to help all the small local businesses through fund contributions. So you can search for your favorite hangout places too, if they are registered. Any donation will help Thunderstruck towards the rent, and will greatly be appreciated.
But I'd go with the first option, which are the heart of the store, the books =)
The next update might be closer to May 12th, when I have a sense of how everything will be planned out.
Until then stay well and safe, we're getting through this,
