Although 2020 was a difficult year with a lot of uncertainty, a lot of positive opportunities also came out of it, through the disruptions to life as we knew it. I am grateful for the connections I made, the collaborations that have been initiated and the doors that have been opened for me.

This time last year, I had no plans to leave the system, go independent and launch my own business, but I am a big believer in things happening for a reason.  Lots of things have fallen into place for me and my network have very much been there for me, cheering me on and recommending me, so I thank you all for joining me on my journey.

Launching the #DailyWritingChallenge and blogging for 100 days from March-August introduced me to a network of bloggers, many of whom now engage in the #MonthlyWritingChallenge too. The theme I introduced for the final month of 2020 was Appreciation and my reflections are here:

For the last few years, I have participated in the #OneWord campaign. I reflected a lot over the Christmas break on the word I wanted to frame my 2021 and I eventually whittled it down to: Freedom.

You can read my reflections on why this word is significant and how it will shape my year ahead here:

I joined Diana Osagie on her Courageous Leadership podcast – find out about my Leadership Mistakes, Mishaps and Triumphs.

I wrote this article on Positive Disruption for the Learning Scientist Magazine.

2020 was a frustrating year, as more changes came into play as schools broke up and as we prepared to down tools for a few days, I felt the frustrations from the year bubble up inside me. So, I blogged it out here and reflected on my coping strategies and what is certain when it feels like everything is out of our control.

Adviice, a platform who are committed to ‘connecting individuals’ and ‘inspiring positive change’ invited me to join their directory of leadership experts.

I have been working with Resilient Leaders Elements since April now, and the coaching model really helped me get clarity of direction and make resilient decisions throughout 2020 and my transition to my independent work. If you are looking to be coached, or to accredit to coach, please do get in touch as the coaching framework and community they have developed is brilliant.
