Reflections on the Last Month
I went independent as a Leadership Development Consultant and Facilitator on May 1st. I have worked freelance for a month and I have enjoyed hitting the ground running. This month my activities have included planning and facilitating some Careers Leadership training for Barclays Life Skills, delivering some Diversity and Inclusion training for a local charity and I am now an accredited #IamRemarkable facilitator for the Google initiative that empowers people from under-represented groups to develop the skills of self-promotion.
Alongside my paid work I continue to volunteer for a number of passion projects including curating the #DailyWritingChallenge blogging community, hosting weekly Peer Support Circles and supporting James Pope with the HeadsUp network. In May I was also delighted to be made a Fellow and an Associate of CollectivEd.
In some ways, going independent during lockdown was reckless and scary, but in many times the remote working and change to our day-to-day existence has enabled a period of reflection, growth and time to create new opportunities which would not have been possible normally. Everything happens for a reason right?
I would like to say a big thank you to my brand designer, Blue Hall, and my web designer, Richard Robinson, for their talent, their patience and their hard work over the last few weeks. Check out their fabulous work on my website.
