Padlet Pro Accounts for Everyone! 
  • All Staff and All Students now have access to a Padlet Pro account. Simply go to and login with Microsoft using your Cambrian College email and password. Here are some examples to inspire you.
Moodle Text Editor
  • The text editor in Moodle may look a little different to you. We had to make an update to fix an issue with our Grading tool. Click here to learn how to switch your editor to the old version (if you prefer).
Thousands of H5P Activities Available
  • Looking to add more interactive activities to your course? Take a look at the eCampus Ontario H5P Studio where over 10,000 H5P interactive activities have been freely shared by fellow post-secondary educators in all subject areas. Click "Reuse" on the bottom left of the activity (check the sharing license first!) and follow these steps to add the activity to your course.

Semester SOS: Are Your Students Ghosting?

The first few weeks of class are over and the newness of the semester has worn off. After the first few weeks, we see some students starting to ‘ghost’ our classes. Ghosting is when someone stops showing up.

Before students ghost our classes, they start to disengage. The article, Preventing Students from Ghosting Your Class by Alicia Pennington in Faculty Focus, outlines why it’s important to know how to identify disengagement, why students become disengaged, and how to intervene before students become ghosts.

Using Positive Reinforcement to Engage Students

Everyone enjoys receiving positive reinforcement. You never hear someone say “don’t give me an A” on an assignment or “stop complimenting my work” in a performance review. That’s because gaining recognition for something feels good, and it motivates us towards a goal.
