Today, with peace and joy we are celebrating Christmas, a feast of love, sharing and mutual respect.
Brothers and sisters in faith, the same way we made all kind of preparations before December arrived - purchased new furniture, new clothes, changed our home, decorating for Christmas - I hope during Advent we did the same things in our lives - in our souls - to allow Jesus to be born in our hearts.
Christmas is not possible without love as God Himself is love. My brothers and sisters in Christ, it is this love that gathers us in spite of our differences. Oh what great love!
It is that same love that allows you to have a spirit of sharing so that you don’t forget your brothers and sisters in Haiti and other places where there are economic difficulties.
Finally, this year again, in spite of the difficulties - the political, economic and social problems, - we are celebrating in joy the birth of the Son of God. We welcome with great joy the One who comes to save us from sins. We are contemplating with assurance the Son of Man born in flesh that comes to save us and wait for his return to judge the world. Him, who lives and reigns, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, Amen!
The community and I wish you a Merry Christmas 2019 and a Happy New Year 2020. I love you strongly. Rev. Fr. Moïse Dorceus, priest in charge of Saint Marc’s parish of Jeannette.
