Due to political unrest followed by the threat of COVID-19, the students at St. Marc's School had a particularly challenging year. In order to finish the 2020 school year, students cut their usual summer break short and finished the school year in October.
In spite of the difficulties at the school, there are 19 graduates for the '20 school year. A generous donation by the Love family will ensure that, even though the school year was challenging, the students and families will celebrate the student's accomplishments with a graduation party.
This month is students take their national tests in order to move to the next grade. 22 9th graders just sat for the exam and our 19 seniors (Philo class) will take the exam next month.
Students at St. Marc's will begin the 20/21 school year on November 3rd.
We spoke to Dr. Ellie today and learned that there have been no cases of COVID-19 in Jeannette. The clinic also successfully ran a three day training for the pharmacy staff. A pharmacist from Port-Au-Prince came to Jeannette to update the techniques used at the clinic.
A Very Special Thank you to our friends at
St. Alban's in Spooner!
The small but mighty congregation at St. Alban's in Spooner donated $2,000 dollars to the Haiti Project!
They've been huge supporters of the Haiti Project for the past 5 years.
