Welcome to the Summer issue of the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Natural Environment Partnership newsletter.

Our newsletter contains updates on some of the projects we are working on, as well as relevant local and national news that has an impact on the natural environment.

LNPs Growth Arc Mapping Workshop

A big thank you to everyone who attended our Growth Arc Mapping workshop in July! It was a successful and productive day, hosted by The Parks Trust at the beautiful Linford Lakes Nature Reserve.

We're in the process of compiling and editing the information gathered from the event and we look forward to sharing the results in the autumn.

Bug Buddies with Bucks Buzzing

Bucks Buzzing has been out in the field! We recently teamed up with the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Environmental Record Centre to do some seed collecting with a school in Olney. Students from the Olney Infant Academy joined us at Barn Field, a Local Wildlife Site, to collect wildflower seeds which they will plant around the school as part of their 'Bug Buddies' programme.
To read more about the day, check out the case study on the Bucks Buzzing website.

Our next event with Bucks Buzzing will be the Bucks County Show on Thursday, 29 August so come say hello!

Conservation Volunteering

The NEP maintains a directory of conservation organisations to help people get involved with conservation volunteering in their patch. We have three new additions to our Conservation Directory to tell you about in this edition. Click on the images below to visit the website of each group:
Bucks Amphibian & Reptile Group
Newly revived, this group is where individuals from all backgrounds can share their passion for Buckinghamshire's resident herpetofauna.
Bucks Dormouse Group
A group sharing dormouse-related knowledge, experience and ideas, as well as undertaking surveys and recordings findings.
Wild Marlow
A group of enthusiasts, passionate about wildlife and protecting biodiversity in the Marlow area. The inaugural meeting will take place on Thursday, 29 August at The Two Brewers, Marlow at 7.30pm; visit their Facebook event page for more information.

The NEP is continuing to work on its Biodiversity Accounting scheme to cover Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes, which will enable net biodiversity gain as a result of development.

Related to this, Natural England has launched their revised test metric which is now out for trial:
