1.  2020 PNACP Meeting
This year's annual PNACP meeting will be Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28, hosted by Walla Walla University at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.  The theme this year is "From Past to Present: Historical Perspectives on Physics".  Submission of abstracts for presentations related to the history of physics or physics education are welcomed and encouraged.

The conference program also includes a Friday night banquet and the annual James Gerhart Lecture on Physics Education, which this year will be by Sylvester James Gates, Jr. from Brown University.  Dr. Gates is the Brown Theoretical Physics Center Director, Ford Foundation Professor of Physics, Affiliate Professor of Mathematics, and Watson Institute for International Studies & Public Affairs Faculty Fellow.  He is known for his work on supersymmetry, supergravity, and superstring theory.  He will speak on his recent book Proving Einstein Right: The Daring Expeditions that Changed How We Look at the Universe

Meeting registration, details about the conference program, and information regarding lodging can be found on the meeting website at  To reserve a Friday night banquet ticket, please register no later than March 11th.

2. Dues and Stipends
Support for PNACP activities is provided by dues from its member institutions. Dues are used to bring invited speakers to the annual conference and to provide travel stipends for faculty.  Dues and travel stipend amounts can be found at the meeting website at  Specific questions about dues and stipends should be directed to

Invoices for dues were sent out in late November.  Now would be a good time to check if your institution has paid dues.  If your institution has paid dues for this year, we are very grateful. If your institution has not yet paid dues for this year, we would welcome you doing so.  Even if your institution is unable to pay annual dues, you are encouraged to attend the conference.  Our goal for over 50 years has been to bring all physicists of the Pacific Northwest together -- university, college and community college faculty.  Thank you for all you do to help bring us together.
