Meditation for Mental Health

The health benefits of meditation are well known, from improving mood to helping with memory and decreasing tension in your body. Goodness knows in 2020 we can all use a little break from our day here and there. People often think in order to meditate properly you need to be trained and able to sit for long periods of time. However, meditation can be done in just a few minutes when you are feeling stressed. Below we included a link to a meditation audio we like that focuses on breathing and bringing intentional joy to your life. 



Joyce Bongang is an Associate Professional Counselor. She earned a B.S. in Biology from Armstrong Atlantic State University and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. Ms. Bongang has experience working with children and adults in inpatient, outpatient, and correctional settings. She specializes in providing mental health therapeutic services and comprehensive assessments to individuals who suffer from a wide array of symptoms including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and anger. Ms. Bongang believes in using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques as well as a humanistic approach to help clients develop self-acceptance and offer them a safe place to develop personal growth. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her family.
