Coronavirus: Latest updates

  • The archbishops have written to all clergy to inform them that updated guidance has been issued in relation to the suspension of the Common Cup and sharing the Peace in response to Coronavirus Covid-19.
  • The Church of England has reviewed and streamlined their guidance to make finding information more straight forward, including new information about baptisms and confirmations.
  • The Diocese of Chester is following advice from the Church of England and Public Health England and will continue to signpost clergy and church leaders to the latest advice from the Church of England.
  • Bishop Keith has also written to all clergy to offer his support and prayers, saying: "Thank you for what you are doing in your prayer and care. I know we are all at full stretch at the moment so I just wanted to express my thanks and give whatever encouragement I can for us to keep going."
  • At the time of writing, events and meetings in the Diocese of Chester are continuing as planned. However, as we receive advice from Public Health England and the Government, this may change. We'll review this information early next week and advise via the E-Bulletin and the diocesan website should plans change.
