You can also download the Preview Program with the schedule, session and presentation listings, and more information about the meeting. The final program, including abstracts for all presentations, details about the Sports Medicine Physician Track program, and even more information about the meeting and our 50th anniversary celebration will be available in late January.

We will continue to update the website with more information as the meeting approaches.

Updated COVID-19 precautions at the 2022 SEACSM Annual Meeting

SEACSM is committed to holding a safe in-person meeting February 17–19, 2022 in Greenville SC. In addition to following hotel, local, state, and CDC recommendations we are also adopting best practices to reduce and mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission developed and strongly recommended to regional chapters by National ACSM for meetings, conferences, and events.

All attendees, including participants, speakers, exhibitors, and guests, at the 2022 Southeast ACSM Annual Meeting are required to:
1. submit proof that they are fully vaccinated, as that term is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at the time of the meeting,
or
2. submit proof of a negative COVID test taken not more than 72 hours prior to the start of the meeting.

Specific requirements, including but not limited to the type of documentation required, the type of test required, and the time period in which the test must be administered may change closer to the meeting based on CDC guidelines at that time as well as any applicable requirements of the local government and/or health authorities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to upload their COVID-19 vaccination record and/or test results through an online platform prior to attending the meeting. The online verification process is simple, secure, and HIPAA-compliant. We recommend that all attendees also bring proof of vaccination or negative test to the meeting. More information about the verification process will be available later this month.

In addition, all attendees must wear face masks/coverings (preferably double-ply or N-95 quality) at all times in meeting rooms, poster sessions, and other venues. An exception will be made for speakers in oral presentation sessions who may remove their mask while presenting.

As the meeting approaches, an update to these recommendations may be warranted, so check the SEACSM Annual Meeting website for the latest information about how we're implementing safety precautions. Thank you for your patience and for helping us gather safely at our 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting.

ACSM and SEACSM website updates

ACSM recently updated their website which included some changes to the SEACSM website. As a consequence, some old links to the website stopped working.

You can access the SEACSM main page at: https://www.acsm.org/membership/regional-chapters/acsm-chapters/southeast

The new link for the SEACSM Annual Meeting page is: https://www.acsm.org/membership/regional-chapters/acsm-chapters/southeast/annual-meeting

You may also need to update your bookmarks with the new links and clear your browser cache.

Student Bowl

The Undergraduate Student Bowl is back for the 2022 SEACSM Annual Meeting! We are looking forward to coming together for this fun Jeopardy-style team competition testing exercise science knowledge. This year there will be a special category celebrating the 50th anniversary of SEACSM.

Team slots are currently full. To register for the wait list, faculty sponsors should fill out the application form which is available on the SEACSM Annual Meeting website.

Graduate Program Fair

Attention graduate program coordinators: It’s time to register for a space at the Graduate Program Fair at the 2022 SEACSM Annual Meeting. This event is scheduled for Friday, February 18, 2022 from 6:30–7:30 pm.

The Graduate Program Fair is one of the most popular events at the meeting with heavy student traffic. Please consider this opportunity to market your program and recruit some of the best undergraduate and graduate students from our region.

Applications and payments are being accepted now. There is limited space, so you are encouraged to reserve your spot early.

To reserve a space, visit the SEACSM Annual Meeting website for links to the application and payment page.

Sponsor and Exhibitor Opportunities

The Southeast ACSM chapter has a variety of opportunities available for companies and organizations to market their products and services to sports medicine and exercise science professionals in the southeast and to gain local, regional, and national exposure for their company.

One of the highlights of the conference is the opportunity for one-on-one interactions with exhibitors participating in the meeting. The opportunity to learn more about the products and services that companies and organizations have to offer sports medicine and exercise science professionals is an important part of the meeting.

The sponsors and exhibitors that participate at the annual meeting are from a wide variety of industries and institutions. These vendors offer products, equipment or services that the conference attendees frequently use in their professions.

Please contact us if you or your company or institution would like to participate as a sponsor or exhibitor, or if you know of a company or institution that you think would like to participate or that you would like to see at the meeting.

Contact Michael Berry (berry@wfu.edu) as soon as possible to learn more about these opportunities.
