First Communion Preparation Programme for Families

As You Prepare...

Dear <<First Name>>,

We hope you and the family are well in body, mind and spirit as you cope with this lockdown. We wanted to touch base with you regarding the preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion for <<Child's Name>>.

As you know, in normal circumstances, our preparatory programme would take place in person, but due to Covid, this has not been possible.

This year, we have put together an alternative plan for you. We are offering a home-based preparation programme for you and <<Child's Name>>, to journey in faith through a series of videos and conversation starter questions.

From now, and continuing weekly, during the Lenten and Easter Season, we will make available to you, child friendly resources for use at home in your own time. This will include some reading material and an online video resource.

We understand managing home, work and school life in the confines of one house is challenging at the moment. Therefore, we encourage you and <<Child's Name>> to engage with these online resources in a time that suits the family.

In the meantime, we would encourage you to continue to pray with <<Child's Name>> and to tune in on a Sunday for the streamed Mass at 11.30am.

We will be in touch about ceremonies as soon as Government guidelines allow us to make arrangements.

In the meantime, God bless and stay safe and well.

A Message from Archbishop Dermot Farrell
to families and children

'There is no pressure to celebrate the sacraments by any given deadline; we will use this time of uncertainty to support you to nurture your children as they journey towards the sacraments whenever they can be safely celebrated.'

The Main Story...

This week there is a reading resource called
"We are Part of One Family, God's Family" and
a video about "What Makes Sunday Special?"
