The church is running the next Alpha Online course starting on 20th April.

If you are interested in being on the team that will be hosting it, please contact Bryan Steele (bryan@thesteeles.org.uk). The number of people needed will be dependent upon the number of attendees.

We have leaflets to deliver to local homes. The plan is to deliver to the whole of Barleythorpe and also to homes near where our Lifegroups meet or where you live. If you would like to help with reaching out in this way, contact Bryan for leaflets and to confirm which street(s) you will deliver to so that we don’t deliver to a street more than once 😊.

Riding Lights Theatre Company Presents:
Breaking Day
A Lockdown Passion Play by Les Ellison
Daybreak on Good Friday. The Governor’s grip on authority is slipping, his wife plagued by dreams, and their servant clearly knows more than she should. Torn between the Capitol, the Sanhedrin & the mob, the lines between personal & political begin to blur. The teacher at the centre of it all remains silent.

Filmed remotely in lockdown, Breaking Day is an innovative passion play for Easter 2021, immersing us with stark intimacy in decisions that led to crucifixion.
Available to stream 19 March - 15 April. Tickets are £10 per household, and can be purchased from the Riding Lights website: www.ridinglights.org/breaking-day
“Leicestershire at the Cross Event” is a Good Friday Service (2nd April 2021 at 6pm). There will be around 20 churches involved in the service itself and they expect hundreds of churches from many denominations to attend.
"We believe that this will be a wonderful evening lifting up the cross"

REACHwomen Book Group
Our latest read was Sensible Shoes by Sharon Garlough Brown and it received pretty much a thumbs up from all who read it, perhaps because we could identify in some ways with the characters in the book and the spiritual journeys they had embarked on.

Our next read is “ Safely Home” by Randy Alcorn -and is the story of  two friends, reunited in China after 20 years and the choices they must make that will not only determine  the destinies of two men, but two families, two nations and two worlds.

We will be getting together on Zoom or hopefully in person in small groups in May to review the book so that gives plenty of time to read it.  If you would like to join in, please let any of the REACHteam know- Sue Bamber, Hannah Dodson, Madeleine Gilbert, Lorraine Harper, Helen Wells.
