Updates from the Campaign Trail

Welcome to the first edition of my campaign newsletter! Each newsletter will offer an opportunity to learn more about why I am running, issues facing the city and ward 9 residents specifically, as well as upcoming events and other interesting tidbits.

When I tell people that I am running for Council, I'm often asked "Why?" Honestly, it was not part of any long-term plan I had for myself. However, through engaging with other residents by volunteering with the neighbourhood association, the Downtown Neighbourhood Alliance, and several other committees and boards, it became clear that local politics play an important role in the daily functioning of neighbourhoods. Municipal politics and neighbourhoods are inextricably connected.

Running for Council provides a new avenue to continue working towards a community that is inclusive, engaged, and supported.

Neighbourhood Happenings
June 9th was a busy day in Kitchener! Many places in ward 9 held Neighbours Day events (pictured above: Cherry Park; Mill-Courtland Community Centre). The evening included the Summer Lights Festival on King St. in downtown Kitchener (pictured below).
