Dear Year 9 students
Following the Government’s announcement on Wednesday evening, regarding the closure of schools, I am aware that, for many of you, this may be a confusing and worrying time.
I have been pleased to see how hard many of you have worked so far this year, and that you have settled so well into your options subjects and GCSE courses. Many of you have continued to develop a positive attitude to learning and some really good learning habits. We now need to make sure that we can maintain this momentum whilst you are working from home so that you are ready to continue making excellent progress when we return to College.
Your teachers are all working hard to provide you with online learning activities and resources which will help to make sure that you cover the work you need to during this time and that you are able to continue to make progress. This means it is really important that you try your best with the work which is set and that you complete it to the best of your ability. If you need any help, or if you have any questions, you can email your class teachers. The email addresses of teaching staff can be found here: http://www.sjhcsc.co.uk/our-college/meet-the-staff
It would be a good idea to plan a daily routine for the days which you would normally be in school; you might find it helpful to follow your school timetable, as much as possible, and to complete work during your lesson times. You might also like to use some time to do further reading or activities for subjects which are of particular interest to you, or look into possible future careers. We have an excellent Careers page on the College website which can help you with this.
During these uncertain times, stay safe, keep busy with your home learning and I look forward to welcoming you back when schools are able to re-open.
