As your child prepares to receive their results tomorrow, I am sure you are aware of the changes which the government have announced this week regarding the awarding of GCSEs and other qualifications. However, I wanted to make sure you are up to date with the latest developments and what these will mean for your child’s results.
On Monday 17 August, Ofqual announced that, “students will be awarded their centre assessment for this summer - that is, the grade their school or college estimated was the grade they would most likely have achieved in their exam - or the moderated grade, whichever is higher.”
When your child receives their results on Thursday 20 August, their result will reflect this process.
Official Cambridge National results (Sport, iMedia) will be released on Tuesday 25
August. The results released on this date will be either the centre assessment grade or the calculated grade, whichever is higher. In the meantime, the awarding body have advised that centre assessed grades can be given to students on Thursday 20 August.
We have received music grades from Rock School and these will be shown in the statement of results.
As per the letter sent on 8 July, students will receive their results via the post on Thursday 20
August by 1pm. If your child has not received their results by this time, please contact email@example.com
I would like to take the opportunity to wish all of our students well as they begin the next phase of their education and training. At the end of a very challenging few months, I hope that our students can feel proud of what they have achieved and that they are motivated and inspired to go on and achieve even greater success.
As ever, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
