Year 7 update
Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly, Ms Bloomfield and I hope you and your family are safe and well. These are strange times and I never thought we would be communicating in this way, but we still endeavour to support you all and below is some essential information for you and our students that I would like to share.
I would like to remind you the College have sent a number of letters out to you via your email. It is essential that you check emails regularly, as this is the most effective way we can communicate with you. If you are not receiving these then please let Ms Bloomfield or myself know via email and we can check that the address we hold for you is correct. If you have not received these, or at any point misplace one of our electronic letters, then all communications can be found on the College Website:

I am sure you are aware the College will be closed until further notice and as a result, we will all need to learn to work in different ways. Please refer to the College website under Students- Homework and then respective subjects and the corresponding year 7 group to find out the work that will be set each week.

Many teachers will start to adopt a number of online platforms to help with distance learning and full instructions on how to access these can be found in the respective subject areas above.  I have asked all tutors to make contact with parents of students in their tutor groups over the next week to find out how everyone is coping and to deal with any home learning issues that may have arisen.  In the meantime if you would like to get in touch with them yourself then feel free to email them:
If you need any specific academic help or support all of our teacher’s email contacts can be found at:

To enable myself, Ms Bloomfield and the rest of the pastoral team to keep in touch and publish information and resources more easily, I have set up a Year 7 Google classroom. Students in Year 7 should be familiar with using this platform as Science are setting all their work through this (A full guide can be found on the Science homework page).

The class code you need to join the Year 7 Classroom is:  mfnswrn
Please can you share this communication with your son / daughter and ensure that they log in, so we can keep in touch with them directly moving forward.

On a personal note, I have been thinking about you all and hope that you are all managing to keep your spirits up and are keeping safe. I have contacted some of you already and have been amazed at how many of our students are managing, plus have been really pleased that so many of them are taking up new interests and hobbies, which is just brilliant. Myself and Ms Bloomfield are both accessing our work emails regularly, so anything you need please do not hesitate to contact.  Alternatively, you can telephone 01752 581605 with option 3 for Mrs Jordan and option 1 for Ms Bloomfield, Monday – Friday’s between 9am – 4.30pm.

Please keep safe and get in touch if you or any of our students need support or advice and we will try and help in any way we can. I cannot wait to see you all again, when all of this is over.

Yours faithfully,
Mrs S Jordan
