Year 9 update
Dear Parents/Carers

Myself and Mrs Davies hope that this letter finds you and your families safe and well. These are strange times and in order to try and support you the best way we can please find below some essential information.

The College have sent a number of letters out to you via your email, if you have not received these, then all communications can be found here:

It is essential that you check emails regularly as this is the most effective way we can communicate with you. If you are not receiving these then let myself or Mrs Davies know via email and we can check that the address we hold for you is correct.

As I am sure you are aware the College will be closed until further notice and as a result we will all need to learn to work in different ways. Please refer to the College website under Students- Homework and then respective subjects and the corresponding year 9 group to find out the work that will be set each week.

Many teachers will start to adopt a number of online platforms to help with distance learning and full instructions on how to access these can be found in the respective subject areas above.  I have asked all tutors to make contact with parents of students in their tutor groups over the next week to find out how everyone is coping and to deal with any home learning issues that may have arisen.  In the meantime if you would like to get in touch with them yourself then feel free to email them: To enable myself, Mrs Davies and the pastoral team to keep in touch and publish information and resources more easily I have set up a Year 9 Google classroom. Students in Year 9 should be familiar with using this platform as Science are setting all their work through this (a full guide can be found on the Science homework page).

The class code you need to join the Year 9 Classroom is:  l54w5yn

Please can you share this communication with your son / daughter and ensure that they log in so we can keep in touch with them directly moving forward.

It is really important to maintain the momentum of effort that we see from students in College whilst learning from home. While it is fantastic if parents and guardians can support learning I would expect most students to be able to work independently.  If you need any help or support around specific academic issues then all of our teacher’s email contacts can be found at:

Myself and Mrs Davies are both accessing our work emails regularly so anything you need please do not hesitate to contact us. Alternatively you can telephone 01752 581605 Option two for Miss Warring and option four for Mrs Davies.  If anyone is struggling to get out to go shopping or to collect prescriptions, for any reason, let us know and we are more than happy to help where we can.

Stay safe everyone, we cannot wait to see the Year 9s when we come really is strange not being able to speak and see them every day!

Yours faithfully
Miss L Warring and Mrs N Davies
