During the school closure, there are some Home Learning tasks for students to complete for GCSE English Literature on the college website; these tasks will support your son/daughter with the learning that they would have normally been doing over the next few weeks. These materials are based on the fifteen set poems which focus on the theme of power and conflict that students must learn (from the AQA poetry anthology) for their future exams . Since the anthologies that students have started to use are currently locked away in different classrooms, we are posting out a printed booklet with all the poems inside along with some key notes for each one. Hopefully this will be helpful and thus enable students to complete tasks on the website more effectively. Please expect this booklet to arrive in the next few working days.
All Home Learning materials can be found on the college website in the homework area in a folder called 'English Home Learning'. Students simply need to select the appropriate folder for their current year group to locate the tasks and materials.
Please encourage students to engage with this Home Learning over the next few weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Students can also e mail their class teacher directly (e-mail lists can be found on the college website) for support or feedback.
Thank you in advance for your support in these unprecedented circumstances. We will update the website with more tasks / materials at various points during the school closure.
