Tanya Paslawski Leaving Michigan Electric and Gas Association

This week, it was announced that Tanya Paslawski would be stepping down as President at MEGA in December to join 5 Lakes Energy. Paslawski leaves the role after a year and eleven months at the helm of the association. 

MiOSHA Tightens Remote Work Policies as COVID Cases Increase

On Thursday, MiOSHA launched the State Emphasis Program. The new initiative reiterates the COVID-19 Emergency Plan, in which employers are required to create a remote work policy for all employees who can feasibly work remotely. The new plan also includes a new hotline to answer questions from employers and employees alike concerning the mandate. Read more

Governor Whitmer Not Taking Another Shutdown Off The Table

Governor Whitmer has said she's exploring the next steps of the state's fight against the spread of the coronavirus. The state has seen record-setting increases in positive cases and infection rates this fall. Whitmer's powers to call for the original stay-at-home order were ruled unconstitutional last month, but similar orders have come through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
