Plan ahead to get the most out of First Event

There's so much going on with First Event 2020 that nobody could do it all. You can certainly just waltz into anything your registration gives you access to, but there are a handful of activities that benefit from a little advanced planning.

Speed Dating - Thursday 7pm

Speed Dating at First Event will use computer matching to schedule several 5-minute "dates" for you. You'll meet someone, talk briefly, and then privately choose 'yes' or 'no'. If you both choose 'yes', we'll email both of you (to let you know you're a match), and we'll put you in touch!

While walk-ins are welcome, you can make it even easier by pre-registering your dating information. Filling out the form does not commit you to attending, it just speeds the process up if you decide to attend.

Open mic / jam session - Saturday 9:30pm

All performers welcome – sing, play an instrument, tell a story, share a poem. We’ll provide the mic, the stage, and a keyboard; you provide any additional instruments. Please keep instrument setup to a minimum.

Add your picture to the First Event Timeline

Bring a picture of yourself and friends to First Event for a collage we'll build as part of the First Event art show. Bring them to the art show Thursday at 4:30, or email to Juliana in advance and she'll print them. You'll also be able to print photos at the show, but we'd like to start with some.

The theme of the show is Expressions of Gender Identity — bring your best selfie, meaningful picture, strike a pose, show us your true self!
