STC is auctioning off three items to raise money for long-term projects at the club. In the last few days we had bids on all three items. We will accept bids until Saturday, October 1.
1. Jody Jackman will conduct a two-hour tasting on wines or spirits. Jody will lead your guests through the sensory experience of how to differentiate flavors, tastes, and texture. Tasting can be conducted in your home. The tasting will consist of 6 items but can be amended to create a delicious experience for the winning bidder. Jody was a private chef for Mary Tyler Moore and worked for Saintsbury Winery in the Carneros region of Napa. Jody is selling wine & spirits for Breakthru Beverage of Pennsylvania. The value of the tasting is $500, and the latest bid is $500. Minimum bid increment is $25.
2. "The Federer Volley" is a 12 1/2" X 15 1/2" painting with frame (oil on panel). It was painted by club member, Collier Parker, who teaches painting and drawing at Marywood University (see his bio). This shot of Federer executing a volley with perfect form at Wimbledon captures the movement, grace, power, and flow that characterized his play throughout his career. Roger recently announced his retirement after one of the most successful careers in tennis history. See a photo of the painting below. The value of the painting is $1900, and the latest bid is $750, with minimum bid increments of $50.
3. Two tickets plus a parking pass for the New York Giants football game vs Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, October 16 at MetLife Stadium. The Giants have won their first two games and are looking to add the Ravens to their list of victims this season. Entering this season, Baltimore's 36 victories in interconference play since 2008 ties them for the NFL's second most wins. The value of the tickets and parking pass is $325. We have a starting bid of $250, with minimum bid increments of $25.
