tonight's pick-me-ups

Things we're doing to unwind and get cozy before bed tonight:

✂️ Creating your vision. Get crafty this weekend by making a unique vision board as motivation to stick to the goals and aspirations you've set for the new year. *Bonus* invite some friends over and turn it into a party.

🍽️ Being the hostess with the mostess. Whether you're entertaining for a crowd or treating yourself to brunch, whip up
these fuss-free crepes that are as elegant as they are simple to make.

👯 Keeping your besties close. Life often gets in the way and it may feel like ages since the last time you had a proper BFF date.
These best friend traditions are so important to keeping your favorite person in your life.

❄️ Snuggling up this season, especially when the sun sets at 5PM and everything outside is blanketed in snow.
These cozy Winter essentials will help you get comfy and ready for sleep any night of the week.

Reads when you're up late anyway. Here are tonight's round-up for every occasion:

For when it's time to let it go ~ Let's be clear: quitting doesn't mean you're giving up or being lazy. Sometimes, giving something up can be the best resolution you can make for yourself. "As we make resolutions to start a new hobby or deepen our relationships in the new year, we’re also reflecting on what might be difficult, but ultimately worth it, to give up: a job, a friendship, even a dream ... I, for one, wish I’d had this advice when I was 15, and then 16, and then when I was 18. I would tell her: It’s okay to quit. One day, you’ll be more than a soccer player; you’ll be a journalist, and a loyal friend, and a loving daughter. You’ll have learned how to be a quitter, and maybe that’s the most valuable lesson of all."

RELATIONSHIPS  For when you should say 'I do' to yourself ~ Wedding rings are an important symbol of loving someone forever. So why don't we just buy one and commit to loving ourselves forever? "Instantly, I knew. This was a ring I was meant to have forever. It was a special item that would remind me of how brave, powerful, and lucky I can be ... And even if I someday find myself in a long-term romantic relationship, nothing can take that away from me. Just as I'll never be defined by anxiety, I refuse to be defined by my romantic status."

WELLNESS  For when those small distractions are exactly the fix ~ When life gets overwhelming, huge actions are not always required. A little distraction — like watching a new show, going for a run, or fixing up a meal — can balance out all the go-getting. "In times of crisis — as it feels like we so often are these days — taking action is imperative. It’s why we donate, march, call our representatives, and support those who need us. But what I’m starting to realize is that with action comes a desperate need for the little distractions that bring us joy and give us space to replenish our emotional stocks."

ROUTINE ENVY  For when your perfect night in also involves folding laundry ~ We might not be as organized and decluttered as Marie Kondo ... but we sure can try as the tidying up queen shares all of her highlights of a perfect night in. Sneak peek: "[On whether she has a self-care ritual]: 'If I’m tired, I use a tuning fork before I go to bed that gives vibrations in the air and sound. It conditions my body, spirit, and mind.' [On her ideal bedtime]: '10 p.m.'"
