Making plans to have a good week: 

🎂 Meal prepping cake, cake, and more cake. Psst The Snoozeletter's SECOND BIRTHDAY is this week! And we're personally celebrating with something sweet from Claire Saffitz's Dessert Person (omg hello malted forever brownies).

🖼️ Adding on our to-do list: pull out the holiday home deco.
Comfort decorating is the new tidying up. *Don't* do it for the 'gram and let your knick knacks from fridge magnets to quirky clocks stir up good memories.

📝 Bookmarking for the morning
these things to do when you're feeling unproductive. When the Monday mood strikes, please take a break (!!) as well as a walk and a shower.

🍿 Spending our extra hour watching feel-good flicks,

🛏️ Wrapping up the weekend

Our blog series How She Gets to Bed is a deep dive into how women who kick ass during the day spend their night. For our birthday week, we’re so pumped to feature one of our very own founders of The Snoozeletter, Allison Nguyen! Through The Snoozeletter, she’s been on a mission to help everyone else transform their nighttime routines with wellness and finally get some sleep. 💤

Location: Chicago, IL
Awake by: 10:00 AM on days that I have class and 12:00 PM otherwise
Asleep by: 4:00 AM at the latest (I’m a true night owl)

Since I gave up on becoming a morning person long ago, I take my time getting the day started. I’ll set my alarm for an hour before I actually need to get up and hit snooze until the very last minute. Then it’s straight to tackling my flood of an inbox over a long lunch. As a grad student now, I’m wrapped up in classes, club activities, recruiting, and group project meetings the rest of the afternoon through early evening. Add in a walk to get fresh air somewhere in-between.

Winding down for me involves a combination of watching something and doing something. I just finished The Queen’s Gambit miniseries on Netflix (highly recommend!) and am excited to start the new seasons of The Mandalorian and The Crown when they come out next. I’m a little too antsy to sit still and watch, so I’ll keep my hands busy at the same time either baking or working on one of the hobbies I’ve picked up during the pandemic  —  lately puzzles and knitting! Mostly, though, I love that rewarding feeling of completing something no matter how small.
