Shape the future of Spencer Academies as a Trust Governor


Trust governors are part of our governing bodies across The Spencer Academies Trust, modelling best practice and sharing their professional knowledge Trust governors play a different role to traditional staff governors, who hold a link role in the schools where they work. Rather, Trust governors are part of a governing body in another Spencer school. They share best practice, work with a wider group of colleagues across the Trust and are part of how our schools learn from one another. Staff working in secondary academies are encouraged to volunteer in primary schools and vice-versa, developing a valuable perspective on the education journey of our children and young people. After a highly successful pilot programme, our aim is to have at least one Trust governor on every governing body. NPQML National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership

The NPQML is an established qualification that provides national recognition of your leadership development and professional acheivement as a middle leader. NPQML is aimed at those who are, or are aspiring to become a middle leader with responsibility for leading a team. It is designed to support participants in becoming highly effective middle leaders with the skills, confidence and knowledge to drive successful team performance and improved classroom practice. NPQSL National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership

The NPQSL is an established qualification that provides national recognition of your leadership development and professional acheivement as a senior leader. It is aimed at individuals who not only have responsibility for leading a team, but are also involved in leading across teams on a range of issues that affect the whole school or organisation. It is aimed at senior leaders, including experenced middle leaders, deputy heads, SENCOs and ASTs and other senior staff looking for further professional development but not yet within 18 months of headship. The NPQSL qualification will support you in becoming a highly effective senior leader, with the skills, confidence and knowledge to contribute to the strategic development of your school or organisation as part of the senior leadership team. NPQH - National Professional Qualification for Headship

Our NPQH is a unique and integrated course which not only focuses on the key skills needed for headship but is also informed by both national and international theory and practice. This is a unique programme being delivered in full partnership with the University of Nottingham's School of Education which could lead directly on to a MA in Educational Leadership and Management if you wish to continue your studies beyond NPQH.
