Tonight's Movie: WOMAN WALKS AHEAD, directed by Susanna White.

Susanna White

British-born film and tv director, Susanna White has won a host of awards for her filmmaking. Having started out in documentaries she moved into drama in 2001 and within four years won a BAFTA for her work on Bleak House(TV). Her work with David Simon on Generation Kill (TV) yielded 11 Emmy nominations. Never afraid of new challenges, in 2016 Susanna directed the feature length adaption of John le Carre’s OUR KIND OF TRAITOR. Her latest film WOMAN WALKS AHEAD follows the relationship between famed warrior and holy man Sitting Bull and his confidant and portrait painter Catherine Weldon. Set in the late 19th century, WOMAN WALKS AHEAD uses the dispossession of the Lakota people’s land as a narrative backdrop.  As Catherine and Sitting Bull grow closer, and as their friendship—and his life—are threatened by government forces, Catherine must stand up and fight for what is most important to her.

Julia is a film producer of both narrative and branded content. She has worked for New York-based production companies Archer Gray, Juniper Jones, Public Record, Broadstreet and MikMak, and is a founding member of new filmmaker collective Dream City, alongside director/cinematographer Daisy Zhou and producer Karine Benzaria. While Julia has produced ads written about in ADWeek and TIME, she has a passion for narrative film, and is deeply committed to telling stories about people who are not often visible in the mainstream media. Her directorial debut, a short film called “Chandler,” premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival in April and has just finished a festival run ending in competition at Indie Memphis Film Festival in early November | Watch "Chandler" here!
Adinah Dancyger

Adinah is a Korean-Polish filmmaker from New York City. Her first short, "Chopping Onions," was shown at Cannes and Berlinale, among other festivals. Her latest short film, "Cheer Up Baby," showcased at Sundance Film Festival '18 and New York Film Festival '17. She also directs music videos and was recently awarded best music video at the fusion film festival for "IUD" - by musician, Okay Kaya.
