What a fabulous school year 2018-19 has been!
It all started last August with excellent GCSE and A level examination results and outstanding university outcomes, swiftly followed by the implementation of our new whole school curriculum and school day, which have proven to be instrumental in ensuring high standards and providing an all-round vibrant education. The magnificent school production, a flawless inspection report and the exponential growth of Kindergarten were highlights of the Autumn Term 2018, with the Spring Term 2019 heralding the establishment of the faculty model across the schools and the announcement to move to four form entry in both Senior Schools in the light of exceptional pupil recruitment. The development of the estate through sporting and science facilities began in the Summer Term; in the last few weeks we have been thrilled to attend some brilliant summer productions and prize givings, each befitting of the individual character of each area of the School; and latterly we have welcomed even greater numbers of prospective pupils to BGS at taster days.
Most importantly, Bury Grammar School remains true to its roots: we have high standards; we genuinely want the best for each individual pupil; we believe in nurturing a friendly and caring environment; and we always aim to enjoy learning and growing. We are going to be bold and suggest that it would be very difficult to find a high performing school with a warmer and more positive ethos.
Next year, of course, we will be 450 years old. While the School is in eager anticipation of celebrating that most incredible milestone, we fully appreciate that everyone is well and truly ready for the summer break.
We hope your summer is a marvellous one and very much look forward to welcoming you back to Bury Grammar School in September.
