After winning the Nova Scotia Masterworks prize for her film Dawn, Her Dad, & the Tractor, Shelley Thompson (TWL 2018) used her winnings to create a fund for Trans Youth. Under the umbrella of a youth charity in Halifax NS, called Phoenix Youth Programs, the Dawn Fund intends to provide financial support to young trans people in need.
