45 Years of Driving Diversity in Journalism
Dear friend,

In 1977, the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education was founded with a visionary mission: To promote diversity in the journalism industry through improved coverage, hiring, and business practices. Today, 45 years later, we are proud to report that we’ve kept that promise.

This is something to celebrate—and we hope you’ll join us!

Whether you’ve just learned about the Maynard Institute or have been with us from the beginning, you know how hard we work to improve the news industry. Take, for example, our latest Maynard 200 fellowship class, an impressive group of 57 media professionals, who are receiving hands-on training to advance diversity and belonging in journalism. Each of those fellows goes back to their newsroom—teaching their colleagues what they’ve learned. That’s a lot of impact!

We want to continue that kind of impact for years to come, but we can’t do that without your support.
Will you help us celebrate our 45 years by investing in our future?
Yes! I support the Maynard Institute
Here’s to many more,
