CalFresh Awareness Kick-Off at Cal State, Dominguez Hills
As you all know, May is CalFresh Awareness Month and everyone at the Center for Healthy Communities would like to give a special shout out to Morgan and Hawk for hosting the CalFresh Awareness Kick-Off Event at Cal State, Dominguez Hills on the 7th. Eligibility workers from the Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) conducted CalFresh applications and interviews. The event also had community health resources, nutritional counseling, tips for healthy living, and so much more. Last but not least, thank you to the hard-working student interns for making things happen! What a great way to start off CalFresh Awareness Month. Thank you CSU, Dominguez Hills!

All County Letter (ACL) NO. 19-32 - CalFresh Student Eligibility: Clarification Regarding Cal Grants for Community College Students
This letter clarifies guidance regarding Cal Grants awarded and paid to students attending a California Community College (CCC). Most low-income students who attend a CCC may only receive a Cal Grant B Access award. Since, Cal Grant B Access is never funded with Temporary Assistance for the Needy Families (TANF) dollars, receipt of Cal Grant B Access cannot be used as an exemption for the student eligibility rule.
