Governor Gives Speech to Packed House 

Over 420 chamber members and friends packed MacRay Banquet Center on Friday May 11, to hear Governor Rick Snyder's final speech at our annual Governor's Luncheon in partnership with the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The huge event is successful largely due to our many sponsors and all those who attend year after year. Thank you all for quickly adapting to the time change and making this a special opportunity for both business networking and community support.

Macomb County voters approve Macomb Community College operating millage proposal

Macomb County voters approved an operating millage proposal for Macomb Community College, renewing the college's millage for 20 years and restoring it to the rate previously approved by voters. The college's millage rate had been subjected to seven Headlee rollbacks since 2000, equating to $1.5 million annually.

Selfridge $32.6 million jet fuel facility open for business

A new $32.6 million jet fuel storage and delivery system has opened at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The construction contract  is the largest single construction contract ever awarded at Selfridge. The new storage system will replace an system at the base which is more than 40 years old. The new system will greatly facilitate fuel delivery to the 127th Air Refueling Group’s fleet of KC-135s, which are primarily used for air-to-air refueling operations.

USPBL Introduces Bat Dog, JJ The Field General

The United Shore Professional Baseball League has put the final touches on rosters for the 2018 season and has signed JJ The Field General as the league's bat dog. JJ the Field General will make appearances at special events throughout the year and interact with fans when they come to the ballpark. His in-game duties include delivering the game ball to the pitcher, shagging foul balls, taking water and towels to the umps, playing batboy, catching Frisbees and honoring the Sweetheart of the Game.
