Swine & Stein Brewfest takes over Gardiner’s historic downtown Water Street on Oct. 8th with all-day tastings of 24 Maine craft beverage producers, delicious pork and other tasty dishes from food vendors and restaurants, a full lineup of live bands, and entertaining games all day-long. Presented by Camden National Bank, Swine & Stein is beer festival that's more than just beer! Volunteer & Get In For FREE!

Swine & Stein Brewfest draws over 1,200 people to our beautiful downtown. This amazing event would not be possible without the help of dozens of volunteers working to make it a fun and successful day.

From early morning setup, to packing up at the end of the event there are many different opportunities and time slots to help pitch in. Volunteering for this event is really fun!

Any volunteer who signs up for a shift will get free designated driver (non-drinking) admission, or may upgrade to a discounted tasting ticket for just $5.

Proceeds from Swine & Stein Brewfest help support Gardiner Main Street’s mission to create a vibrant downtown community. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Vote for your favorite central Maine businesses in the Kennebec Journal's Reader's Choice Awards. Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening: Topside Gaming

312 Water Street, Saturday September 17 at 10 am 
All are welcome to join us this Saturday, 9/17 as we celebrate Top-Side Gaming's grand opening at 10am. This new tabletop gaming store is located a 312 Water Street. Loving LoganFest: A Waterfront Jam

In honor of Logan Johnston – friend, family and community member – please come to the Gardiner Landing at Depot Square for an afternoon of music on this Sunday. Whether you called him Logan, LoRo, Bobby, or Robert, you know he liked to jam with his musical friends and revel in each other's company. As did John Shaw, a fellow bandmate, friend, and dear community member, who will be honored and remembered as well.

Come early...stay for the day! LoganFest will be a jam to remember, with a chance to hear some of your favorite local musicians and maybe play with them too! Join the folks at the library for another installment of their popular tie dye event! They will provide the tie dye making supplies, and you bring a shirt or anything else you’d like to tie dye. More info at gardinerpubliclibrary.org 

Tea Party at Goldfinch Creamery!

Sunday, September 25th at 12pm, 316 Water Street
Tea Time! Goldfinch Creamery will be having a Tea Party on Sunday 9/25 at 12pm. Included is all you can drink teas, 5 different finger sandwiches, spinach puff or quiche, 3 different muffins/scones, butter and jam, 4 different mini desserts! Served on a 3 tiered stand. Marti Stevens Interactive Improv Theater Performance

Gardiner Public Library, Wednesday, September 28th at 5:30pm

The Marti Stevens Interactive Improvisational Theater will perform scenarios about the challenges many Maine citizens 50+ years of age encounter as they live and age in their communities. Each scenario will be followed by an opportunity for the audience to ask questions of the players ‘in character’ and to come up with solutions to the challenges presented. Design a Library Bookmark!

The library needs YOU to help them dream up a new Gardiner Public Library bookmark that they will be giving out to all trick or treaters this year. Share your creativity with them! All entries must be received by 5pm on Friday September 30. Entries can be emailed to jbetit@gardinermaine.com or dropped off at the Gardiner Public Library. All entries should be 2.5 by 8 inches.

Johnson Hall Presents: Maine Event Comedy
The Blind Pig - Next Level, Saturday, October 1, 7:30pm


Johnson Hall's Stand Up Comedy Series, hosted by Mark Turcotte, presents an evening of hilarious stand-up comedy! This month's lineup will include Dennis Fogg, Trent Wells, Joe Flynn & Ann-Marie Keene. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at johnsonhall.org or by calling the office at (207) 582-7144 Tuesday-Friday between 12-3pm. Location is The Blind Pig's Next Level event space, entrance is at 11 Mechanic Street in Gardiner. This location is not handicap accessible.

Maine Craft Weekend is an annual statewide celebration of craft presented by the Maine Crafts Association in partnership with Maine Made. This statewide tour features fine, traditional, and homespun craft, as well as visual and performing arts, Maine-made specialty foods, craft beverages, artist talks, activities for kids, and live music. This is an education, community-oriented and family-friendly event for all!

Downtown Gardiner Trick or Treat is back!

Save the date! On October 28th from 3-5pm children are invited to dress up in their cute, silly and creepy costumes and come to downtown Gardiner for some Halloween Fun!! From the Gardiner Public Library to the A1 Diner you will find many of of our downtown businesses handing out treats of all kinds! Find the event on Facebook for more info and updates. 

Watch a performance in the street from Ampersand Academy of Arts. A costume contest will take place in the newly renovated McKay pocket park along Water Street next to Niche Inc. Awards will be given for the scariest, cutest, most creative, funniest and best group costumes. The post office block of downtown Water Street will be closed to vehicles from Bridge St. to Church St. from 3pm to 5pm only.

This year there will be a "Candy Bank" located at the Gardiner Food Co-op at 269 Water Street. Our businesses each hand our several hundred pieces of candy for this event. Community members can donate a bag or two of Halloween candy or other store bought treats to offset the cost for our local downtown businesses.
