Get it in Gardiner - All year long! Business Highlight:
Monkitree: Art Gallery & Gift Shop at 263 Water Street

If you live or work in Gardiner chances are you have visited Monkitree on Water Street in our historic downtown. This unique shop is full of carefully curated, handcrafted items from many local craftspeople and from around the country. If you are looking for the perfect gift for a loved one, a friend or yourself, owner Clare Marron is always happy to offer suggestions and tell you more about the items in her shop and who made them. She also offers virtual shopping options and is happy to share photos of items in the store. Follow Monkitree on Facebook or Instagram for regular shop updates.

Monkitree has been a part of the downtown community for over 11 years and Clare is an avid supporter of the Shop Local movement, not only for her own business but for all of the businesses in our community. She is very grateful for the amount of people that shopped local this holiday season-in fact it was her best year to date! Shopping local and supporting Gardiner businesses is important, not just for the local economy but for the people that work hard all year to bring life to our downtown. Next time you need a gift for someone or yourself consider stopping by Monkitree-you will be glad you did!

The Punch List Challenge is on at Johnson Hall – donate now and your gift doubles!

Last November, Johnson Hall was delighted to announce the successful completion of the Peter & Sandra Prescott / Team EJP Raise the Curtain Challenge in record time. That effort inspired an anonymous donor to come forward with an additional matching challenge gift of $500,000!

This very generous challenge, which we are calling the Punch List Challenge, came at the right moment because our costs of construction and materials have significantly increased due to world-wide supply chain problems and price volatility. Successfully meeting this new Punch List Challenge will ensure we remain on schedule and begin the long-awaited renovations to Johnson Hall in April, 2022.

This is such an exciting time in Gardiner and hope you will consider donating today. Every dollar given will be matched up to $500,000! We are so grateful to all our donors for believing in Johnson Hall and its vision for our community. To learn more and to give your gift, visit
