Get it in Gardiner: A1 Diner, 3 Bridge Street

The A1 Diner is a classic 1946 Worcester diner car in the historic downtown of Gardiner. This original Worcester Diner car #790 serves everything from specialty waffles to burgers, tacos and gourmet desserts. Their ingredients are all fresh and prepared by hand. You can even order a burger made with local grass-fed beef from Oaklands Farm in Gardiner. The menu and daily specials board are both filled with lots of unique choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner and delicious desserts that are sure to delight. Sunday brunch is always a treat at the A1 Diner with a special menu that changes weekly.

The A1 Diner has been in operation since 1946 when it was named Heald's Diner. It has changed ownership a few times over the years but the reputation of delicious food hasn't! The Food Network featured them on the popular show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and they have also been featured in numerous publications and news clips. There is a book titled A1 Diner: Real Food, Recipes, and Recollections by Sara Rolph that features classic recipes and anecdotes.

A popular destination for locals and tourists alike you will always find a friendly greeting, hot cup of coffee and good meal at the A1 Diner!
