Kingdoms Sports parent & athlete event, end of season basketball banquet
ABA News March 2019
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to God." He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Our goal at ABA is to do sports God's way. We want to provide athletes and families a place where they are challenged athletically and as a follower of Christ.
Ron Brown teaches about the importance of focusing on Christ and ignoring the world's distractions.
In February, ABA partnered with Kingdom Sports to host an event for athletes and their parents, to learn how to do sports God's way. "It's important to educate and coach the parents and the child because it's the parents who will reinforce the biblical principles that are taught during the clinic or camp," said Kingdom Sports' Gordon Thiessen.
This event gave parents the unique opportunity to see what their kids are learning at ABA first hand. Parents were also challenged to evaluate their own perspective on sports. Do they fully trust God with their child? Are they finding their worth and value on how well their child plays or how much playing time they are getting? These are difficult things to work through and for many are never fully resolved. We hope that through this event parents and athletes will be able to grow in their relationship with Christ together.
Gordon's grandkids also attended the event and he said that he enjoyed, "seeing the younger kids who might be experiencing their first clinic ever and having a very positive experience."
For the young kids Gordon says it's important to give them an understanding of the pure joy of sports from God's perspective. His grandkids were eager to "get after it the next day."
We will be hosting another event for parents and athletes with Kingdom Sports Sunday, March 31st. Registration will go live March 6th at https://www.abasportsacademy.com/basketball
