Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to God." He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Successful week of camp prepares players for season

After four weeks off, the soccer season starts in full force with a week of camp. It gets the players in shape, fine tunes their dribbling skills and helps to build team chemistry. Camp is difficult and intense but it also is a lot of fun. Competitive games and prizes help to keep things upbeat and engaging.
Another thing that makes camp fun is how close the girls on the team are. They plan to eat together at tournaments and spend time between games doing activities like shopping at the mall, Coach Kevin Cacek said laughingly.
Another thing that makes the girls unique is their motivation. They focus more on what they can do for the team then what they can do for themselves. By relying on each other and playing selflessly the girls have bonded closer together.
Knowing how they are motivated, has also helped Coach Cacek, inspire them in a way that utilizes this team oriented motivation.
Many of the girls are preparing for their first year playing high school soccer and the focus this season is to make them more comfortable with the physical play they will face on their high school teams. They have been focusing on "expecting contact" Coach Kevin Cacek explained. At camp they did a number of drills that specifically train them to handle more physicality.
Please pray for our soccer girls as they go into their high school season: That they would be a light for their teammates, that they would be well prepared for the difficulties they will face, and that they will remember that their worth comes from their identity as daughters of Christ.

The Goal of Christian Athletes
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Coach's Corner with Gary Nunnally
It is easy for all of us to get our self-worth from our accomplishments, but God values every single one of us regardless of what team we make or don't make. The abilities and opportunities we have are a gift given to us by God to use for His Glory.
