Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to God." He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
This year we formed a new U14 ABA FC team combining 06, 07 and 08 ages. We have a wonderful group of girls that are good listeners, hard workers and are very coachable. We have an outstanding group of coaches: Jerry and Scott Wolf, Jon Feauto, and Kurt Angelback.
Given the nature of not knowing where the team would be at we put them in the YMCA U14 Spirit league where we have a record of 4-1. This spring we are hoping to move into the Nebraska League to help push higher competition and participate in some area tournaments.

Bigger than Basketball
Kallen with her team from this summer. (Currently 6th Graders)
Sports can be hard. They can bring out the best and the worst in us as parents, coaches and players. But it is the little moments that remind us why we play the game and invest our time and energy into sports.
Kayle Stauffer was encouraged by that this summer after her daughter Kallen had a particularly frustrating and stressful weekend of softball and basketball games. After one of the games Kayle went to Kallen hoping to console her and give her a pep-talk. When she finished Kallen responded, "It’s okay mom, I play for Christ, so nothing else matters.”
Kayle said this was very humbling as a mom. It was a reminder to her and Kallen's coaches that their investment has made a real difference and is helping to shape the girls into strong young women of faith.
Kayle emphasized the importance of finding your identity in Christ. "It doesn't matter win or lose, as long as the girls know whose they are," she said. That plays a huge role in the girls relationships with their teammates. They have so much fun together and play with truly joyful hearts. "I don't know if that would be the case if Kallen didn't play for ABA," Kayle explained.
Official Practices for winter basketball begin October 28th! We are excited for the winter season with over 20 girls and boys teams. The weeks of October 14th and 21st we will have optional skills sessions for boys and girls who can't wait to get into the gym.
