Family Focus: The Spaldings

Diane Spalding has two sons, Shane and Luke, who have received services from HCO over the course of their lives.

Shane, her older son, received in-home services when he was younger, as did Luke. When Shane was born, he had seizures due to a hemorrhage on the brain from the stress of labor. The doctors put him on powerful medications to control his seizures, but they came with their own downsides....

Families Giving Back

An enormous thank you to Dave and Joyce McConville for their donation of adaptive bicycles to Home and Community Options! HCO Employee, Stephen Deter, was happy to accept one of the bicycles from Dave on behalf of the Saehler Drive program.

Golf Fundraiser

Though rain got in the way of our golf outing last month, we are so excited that our rescheduled date is almost upon us! Thank you to all our teams and sponsors for their flexibility. We can't wait!

Pez on the River

Pez on the River is an amazing yearly event that brings Pez collectors, enthusiasts, and dealers from all over to Winona, MN and HCO is their charity of choice! Want to know more? Saturday's Pez Show is open to the public and we hope to see you there!   Event Details
Recent Events

Still Fired Up Bonfire

HCO staff, individuals, and recent retirees had an amazing time at the HCO campsite on August 22nd.

With a bonfire and s'mores, it was a nice opportunity to reconnect with old friends! Thanks to everyone who stopped out!

Agency Picnic

Despite the recent storms, the weather cleared just in time for HCO to hold its annual picnic at LaCanne Park on September 11th. With a nice view of the water, consumers, families, and HCO employees gathered to enjoy a good meal together and spend time with the animals at the petting zoo.

Remote Technology

Home and Community Options has 19 residential homes. Out of these 19 homes, 18 use some type of remote technology and 3 use remote overnight supervision.
