Message from the President  •  Immersion Program  •  New Publishing Jobs


Save the date! The 47th PPN Book Show will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019. We’ll open registration for the event in mid-December, but we want to give you a sneak peek into some of the exciting changes we have planned:
  • We have new book categories for Graphic Novels, Travel, How-To, and Cookbooks and new cover categories to acknowledge the best-designed text-driven and image-driven covers.
  • In addition to awards determined by our esteemed panel of judges, who will review submissions in advance of the show, we will have online voting at the book show with votes tallied in real time and the people’s choice winner announced live.
  • Book show award winners will be posted on our website following the book show. This is in addition to the keepsake catalog we produce and give out for free to all attendees.
  • We have a special addition to the book show: this year, join us from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. to hear from long-time designers and industry insiders about the evolution of book design and the joys and challenges of designing in today’s marketplace.

Now Accepting Applications

PPN is again offering opportunities for aspiring publishing professionals to spend a day with a publishing company as part of our One-Day Publishing Immersion Program. The goal of this program is to provide real-world educational opportunities to students or other individuals who are considering a career in publishing. Selected guests will participate in activities such as visiting different publishing departments, job shadowing, and attending meetings.
Applications for potential host publishers and guest participants are due by November 1, 2018. Immersion days will be scheduled in December 2018, January 2019, and February 2019. The program is free to selected guests.
