Blessings, a Bus and Books!

Cornerstone Christian finished the 2018-2019 school year very blessed with Kindergarten graduation, awards ceremonies for all grades and several exciting announcements. Janet Etters announced at the end-of-school programs that CSS will now offer education options through High School! And we now have our own bus - yes, our very own bus!!! All this news shows that by working together we can grow our school and continue to offer a strong, Christian education to the children in our area. But, books? Well, because it's summer vacation and nothing helps keep the brain's wheels turning better than great books. You've worked hard to encourage your kids to love learning - let's keep that going this summer!

The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round...

Thanks to the kindness of Refuge Baptist Church in Kershaw, SC, we were given a wonderful 15-passenger bus making future field trips and school travel so much easier. There are a few repairs and updates that are necessary for the bus to be ready for the 2019-2020 school year. Please consider an extra gift to the Bus Fund. All proceeds will be used to get our bus' wheels rolling!

Congratulations Bible Drill Team!

Now, in addition to School and Associational Bible Drills, our team did great at State! Our Bible drill participants represented our school so well with Rachael, Grace, and Ella all receiving medals for being 3-year participants. James, Tarissa, McKenna, and Sawyer were our first year participants. Everyone received a certificate with seals from the Associational and State drills, and several of our members received recognition as "State Perfect!". As shown, our team was Rachael, Grace, Ella, James, Tarissa, McKenna and Sawyer.

CCS Has a Marketing and Parent Liaison

We are excited to announce that Bekah Lawing has joined our staff at CCS as our Marketing and Parent Liaison. Bekah lives with her husband Brad and three children on the campus of Camden Military Academy where Brad is the Commandant of Cadets. She has homeschooled for six years, has 17 and 13 year-old sons at Thomas Sumter and Camden Middle School, and a daughter starting K-5 at CCS this fall. You could say she has a hand in just about every aspect of education in Kershaw County.

Her job has the dual purpose of working to improve parent-teacher communication in our school and help our teachers at CCS while also spreading the word about our school to Kershaw County through marketing campaigns and special events.

She welcomes your help and your comments and encourages all of us to continue the excellent marketing we can do by telling our churches, friends and neighbors about our school. Contact Bekah at

Books, Books, Books!!!

"So please, oh please, we beg, we pray,
go throw your TV set away,
and in its place you can install
a lovely bookshelf on the wall."
– Roald Dahl

Okay, you don't really have to get that crazy, but Mary, Fiona and Gordon want to remind you to read, read, read this summer!

Looking for a great Christian reading program that helps your kids spend more time in God’s Word this summer? Sign them up for the "WORD with Zach" summer reading program offered through the Children's Bible Hour!

At CCS we like to keep our parents informed of ways to make Christian education the very affordable option.

Effective January 1, 2018, families may withdraw up to an aggregate of $10,000 a year per beneficiary tax free to cover K-12 tuition at public, private or religious elementary or secondary schools. Account owners are responsible for monitoring, and complying with the $10,000 aggregate limit for such expenses. (From the Future Scholars SC site)

Cornerstone Christian Families (CCF) is our new parent-teacher organization! We will be kicking off on Back to School Night, August 12th, with dinner provided. We hope to build better communication within CCS as well as build better awareness of our school in Kershaw County.
