Update on the Beverly Art Walk & 95th Street

Our monthly 95th Street Business Association meeting on June 25 included a lengthy discussion about the Beverly Area Arts Alliance’s decision to remove 95th Street from this year’s art walk, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21. We decided that Erin Ross would approach the Beverly Arts Alliance on behalf of the association to express our disappointment with their decision.

With the help of BAPA, we have held some productive conversations and reached a compromise. The Alliance has agreed to host an exhibition on 95th Street at a single location, with the details to be determined by 95th Street stakeholders. Concentrating our efforts in one location will help the Art Walk consolidate its route, while still drawing visitors to our shopping district.

Sal Campbell, an Art Walk leader, will join us at our next 95th Street meeting on Tuesday, July 23rd at 8 a.m., to gather input from our business owners on 95th Street. Please join us at the Original Pancake House, 10400 S. Western Ave., on July 23, to join the discussion. We can accomplish a great deal when we collaborate together!

Advertising Opportunity in Beverly Art Walk Program

The Beverly Area Arts Alliance is offering quarter- and half-page ads in the 2019 Beverly Art Walk program book. This booklet contains 15+ pages of art and event information, and often serves as a memorable keepsake for artists and attendees. Please see the list of ad options and respond by July 15th. The online application also includes sponsorship opportunities and the option to participate as a venue.

The Art Walk will feature curated exhibitions from more than 150 artists in 50+ local businesses, organizations and vacant storefronts this year. It also includes live music, interactive art activities, and local food and drink at various locations. The event is organized by the Alliance and a dedicated team of volunteers, and it attracts more than 10,000 local residents and visitors to our commercial districts.

The event would not be possible without the generosity and support of our local business community and neighbors. If you’re able, please consider placing an advertisement in the Art Walk program by July 15.
