One Last Farmers Market to Close the Season

This Sunday, October 25, will be our last 95th Street Farmers Market for the season. The Beverly Area Arts Alliance will be our special guest, bringing goodies from Beverly Bakery to celebrate completion of the final section of the iconic 95th St. Farmers' Market mural. The mural was painted by local artist Elaine Miller, and her special limited edition prints will be for sale. The Alliance also will showcase work from local artists, including handmade dolls and bags by fiber artist NiBu, and paintings and etched glass creations by Cathy Sorich.

Attendees are invited to create their own "Pandemograms," messages to share with the world during a pandemic. They can be addressed to anyone, no one, everyone, or a specific person. Pandemogram postcards will be collected for a special exhibition at Heritage Gallery.

Holiday Raffle to Support Local Businesses

The holidays are right around the corner, and so is another raffle! We are working with Alderman Matt O’Shea’s office and our neighboring business associations on this promotion.

As you may recall, this past April, S&T in Mt. Greenwood sponsored the Small Business Relief Event, a raffle that created a $9,000 prize pool and paid thousands of dollars in proceeds to each of the 30 participating businesses.

The Holiday Raffle will follow a similar format, which essentially requires businesses to contribute a $300 gift certificate and commit to selling at least 100 tickets online. Participating businesses that meet all requirements will then split the proceeds of the ticket sales.

When people purchase raffle tickets, they will be able to credit their sale to the business of their choice. For example, if someone purchases 10 tickets and credits Southtown Health Foods, that number will be added to Southtown’s tally of ticket sales. The raffle tickets will be $10 each.

The Holiday Raffle will launch on Nov. 28 (Small Business Saturday) and run through Dec. 20.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the attached application and submit it by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. No applications will be accepted after the deadline. Please see the application for details on eligibility. As always, contact Erin with any questions.
