BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING EXPERT GUIDANCE ON INCLUSION OF PERSONS WITH DIVERSE ABILITIES
Hello <<First Name>>

I'd like to share with you my story of meeting Brooke & Sarah, and the opportunity I've had to be a part of turning their dream into reality. It all started with a meeting at Starbucks in March 2020, just days before the pandemic hit, and ends with an an amazing event 5 months later in August where the community came together to celebrate their dream come true. These two entrepreneurs have started their own business providing dog care services to their community with the opening of Two Sisters Canine Playtime. Learn more about our journey together and other exciting news from MERGE in this month's newsletter.
And remember, we build stronger communities when we celebrate diversity and provide opportunities for ALL to become valued members.

TWO SISTERS CANINE PLAYTIME OPEN HOUSE A HUGE SUCCESS

It’s a sunny summer day and twin sisters Brooke and Sarah Tuton are bustling around their backyard setting up for their long awaited Open House to showcase their new business Two Sisters Canine Playtime. “This day is finally here, I’m so excited for everyone to come and see our business” shares Brooke gleefully; her sister Sarah chimes in “Me too, I’ve been waiting so long it seems like we’ve been planning this forever.”  Both have had a love for animals since childhood, and as young adults thinking about their future, have had a dream of making a career of working with dogs. On this day, they are turning that passion and dream into reality, where they officially kick off their new business providing dog care services to their local community in East Bridgewater, MA.

INCLUSION IS NOT CANCELLED FOR AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS

Welcoming, engaging and supporting children with diverse abilities has never been more important than it is now during this global pandemic. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell, MA has recognized this need and engaged MERGE to provide a customized workshop, providing their team with the tools and confidence to be inclusive in their practices.
Tara Levine, one of the Club's program coordinators shares her thoughts on the impact of the training, "Thank you for such an amazing training yesterday! Our staff really enjoyed learning more about working with youth with diverse abilities and have already asked about implementing our new inclusion binders."

Check out their fantastic responses to the question posed in their small Zoom breakout rooms, "What Does Inclusion Mean To You?"
