BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING EXPERT GUIDANCE ON INCLUSION OF PERSONS WITH DIVERSE ABILITIES
Hello <<First Name>>,

If you haven't seen it already, there is a picture going viral of two children on the first day of school. 8-year-old Christian noticed that his classmate Connor was crying and extended a hand to hold. What Christian didn't know is that Connor has Autism and was feeling overwhelmed. "He was kind to me. It was in the 1st day of school and I started crying then he helped me and I was happy," said Connor.

This photo shows how a simple empathetic gesture can turn someone's world around.  See the full story from CBS News.

In closing, I share a statement from Connor's mom,
"It doesn't matter color, it doesn't matter gender, it doesn't matter disability, and it doesn't matter anything, just be kind, open your heart... it's what we need in this world."

QUESTION: What does it mean that a MERGE training is customized?

ANSWER: When an organization engages MERGE to offer a professional development training, we work with you to provide a service that is most effective and relevant for YOUR team. We start by coordinating a "pre-training meeting" where we meet with key members of your organization involved in the planning. Here we work together to determine the inclusion needs of your organization, your strengths and areas that need focus. Next we'll determine the content of your training, selecting topics and approaches that speak to your audience, providing them with the most effective professional development opportunity possible. Post training we work together to determine an implementation plan to ensure the strategies learned can be easily replicated and applied by those in attendance in their recreation, sport or camp settings. Every step along the way MERGE will be there to listen, respond and provide you with the tools and confidence to ensure that ALL BELONG.
