Hello Friends!

I'm so excited to announce that I've launched my new author website! ColleenMarkley.com

(The dogs weren't really involved much, except for sleeping under my desk while I worked, but they are cute to look at, so they made the final edit for the website too.)

Happy New Year! The good news in my life from 2019 is that I finished my novel! The news for 2020 is that there is apparently a lot more work to do in order to get published, including creating and launching this new author platform website, which is on the internet, and therefore makes me seem legit. I learned that and so much more when I attended my first writing conference back in August (you can read some of the funnier stuff in the one of the first blog posts on my new site)!

I'm also been really excited that I've been busy with speaking engagements and training on the nonprofit front. You can see some of the details on that at my new site too!

So What's Next?
So many things. I'm going to keep writing. There's a prequel/sequel I'm working on already for the book that is (yet) unpublished. I'm also sending that manuscript out to the agents who asked to see it (woo hoo!) and querying new agents as well. And of course I'm getting ready for rejections. That's part of the process (you can read one of my favorite articles on that here!)

I'll still be writing on my "old" blog at YesItReallyHappened.com, you can find me on Medium, and I'm pitching some "bigger" publications with articles and submissions too.

All the writing. All the hustle. All the days.
