The impending visit of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ghana on the 30th of August 2018 upon the invitation of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, should act as a catalyst to expand the frontiers of economic relations between the two countries. The visit, which will be the first for a German Chancellor to Ghana since 2004, is expected to accentuate on the strong and deepening partnership between Ghana and Germany.

Ecobank Collaborates With Ghana Red Cross Society To Reach Out To Flood Victims

The recent heavy downpour of June 18th which recorded rain for well over 7 hours affected a number of flood prone areas in the country including,the Ga EastWest and Central, Adentan Municipality, Ashieduketeke, Okaikoi and parts of Ashiaman.

The Ghana Red Cross and the Greater Accra Emergency Response team, were among the first institutions on site to take part in the rescue and relief efforts,offeringfirst aid to victims and distributing non-food items toabout 360 families. It is a becoming a trend that annually the country around June experiences heavy downpours impacting on the socio-economic development of the affected people.
